Improved Functions and Fixes

1. The display of TouchFLO 3D sometimes may appear cracked.

2. When taking a picture, the auto focus function may malfunction in some circumstances.

3. In some circumstances, the preview screen will become black after taking picture.

4. In some circumstances, the device may hang while loading TouchFLO 3D.

5. When hanging up a phone call, there may be a delay in the display response.

6. Update phone answering from click type to slide type.

HTC Touch HD was demonstrated with the final ROM for Singapore, tips and tricks are shared and finally Microsoft giving a sneak preview of the Windows Live Wave 3.0.

So the highlight was on HTC Touch HD and live sets were available for us to try.

Since I own a Touch Pro, comparing the speed of the Touch Flo 3D, it’s blazing fast on the Touch HD. I wonder if it’s a software or a hardware enhancement, I haven’t been chasing the news on Touch HD.

New features like Stock updates, Focus zoom on camera takes HTC to another level.

Well, I still prefer a physical keypads, I can’t get used to soft keys but the screen size of the Touch HD really stands out.

Lastly, the Touch HD speaker seems to be better, the audio from YouTube is really loud and clear.

My verdict, if you want to unified your media and mobile needs, HTC Touch HD is for you.

Grumps decided to write this application to perform the customising for you. All you need is to extract those files into the following folders.

The Clocks are stored in ….\ManilaCustomiser\Clocks
The Icons are stored in ….\ManilaCustomiser\Icons
The Sliders are stores in ….\ManilaCustomiser\Sliders
The TopCurtains are stores in ….\ManilaCustomiser\TopCurtains
The BottomCurtains are stores in ….\ManilaCustomiser\BottomCurtains

Enter SecondToday.

Here’s how I customised my soft keys to launch SecondToday instead of Phone. I already have a hard key for phone.

1. First install SecondToday
2. Fire up your registry editor and go to “\HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila”
3. Change the value of “HomeLSKPath” to the EXACT location of SecondToday.exe, e.g, “\Programs Files\SecondToday\SecondToday.exe” or “\storage Card\Programs Files\SecondToday\SecondToday.exe”
4. Change the value of “HomeLSKText” to “SecondToday” or whatever text that you want to replace “Phone”
5. Soft reset your phone

6. After soft reset, it should show on the LEFT softkey “SecondToday”
7. Click on the LEFT soft key “SecondToday”, SecondToday will be launched.
8. Select the plugins you will like to be displayed and click ok.
9. Now, you are done. To return to Touch Flo, just click on the Home hard key.

To add Secondtoday to the Exclusive List
1. Go to Task Manager, Tap and HOLD onto SecondToday in the Task Manager
2. Select the option “Add Exclusive” on the popup menu.

Do you ever notice you keep getting missed calls too ? It’s either the tight fitting case decided to touch Ignore on the screen while you are pulling out your phone or you just can’t pick up the phone on time.

Try calling yourself. You will notice that your phone light up with incoming call displayed but the ringtone and vibration kicks in after 1-2s. By that time, the other party has already been waiting for 3-4s ?

Taking the time to take the phone from your pocket or case, it’s a good 5-6s. This lag comes from the Touch Flo skin for Phone. I disabled the Touch Flo skin, when I call my phone, it rings without lag.

Disable it by using the Advanced Configuration Tool, Under Phone, change “Phone Skin” to disabled

As for the case problem, you need answerkey disabler http://code.google.com/p/answerkeysdisabler/
this will lock your screen when there’s an incoming call, so you can use your hard keys to answer the phone.

For e.g, I can configure in such a way that when I turn my Touch Pro facing down, it will turn the screen off.

The possibilities are endless ! You can configure to perform the actions for any programs that is active on screen.

Program author’s description:

Gyrator is a c# based program which will automatically rotate the screen in your device, so that it is always in the correct orientation for the way you are holding it

Gyrator will enable your device to:

• Automatically rotate the screen orientation to match that of the device
• Automatically lock your device, or turn off the screen when the device is placed in a certain orientation
• React to the stylus being inserted and removed from the device
• Notify you when an event has ocurred by means of vibration or audiable alert.

What you need to do:

1. Install NetCF3.5 on your ppc.
2. Open a registry editor, I use Reso Regsitry Editor
3. Goto HKLM\Software\Microsoft\.NETCompactFramework (this is usually the first entry
4. When you open this you’ll see all the .NET installed version change the DWORD value of 2.0.7045.00 from 1 to 0
5. Chang ethe DWORD value of 3.5.7283.00 from 0 to 1.
6. Reboot
7.Viola! you have a faster PPC

Make a copy of the /Windows/AudioPara3.csv to your folder for backup

Unzip  the AudioPara3_lighter_boost.zip or AudioPara3_full_boost.zip and move the extracted AudioPara3.csv to /Windows/.

As it’s a system folder, you may need to use Total Commander or Resco Explorer to execute that action.

Reset your phone for it to take effect.
